February highlights: SEKEM Group Showcases Organic Power at Biofach 2024

We proudly participated in Biofach 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, held from February 13-16 in Nuremberg, Germany. This participation marks a pivotal moment for us as it highlights our commitment to sustainable practices and showcases our diverse array of organic products.

More than just products

At booth 515 in Hall 7, our team showcased a diverse range of high-quality organic products, including herbs, juices, vegetables, and honey, alongside premium raw ingredients from the sister company, Lotus. But our mission extended beyond product display. We actively promoted regenerative agriculture practices, highlighting its importance for a sustainable future through engaging conversations with our stakeholders.

Leading the conversation

Our CEO, Mr. Helmy Abouleish took center stage at the conference session titled “Imagine: Paying for Ecosystem Services Creates Accounting Corporate Value Rather Than Costs.” He joined industry leaders in discussing innovative financing models to support regenerative land management and promote healthier ecosystems. Additionally, on the sidelines of the conference, Mr. Helmy was part of Demeter International‘s “100 Years Of Biodynamic Agriculture” celebration, where he discussed the role of biodynamic farming in addressing the climate crisis, and the impact of the Economy of Love model for sustainable food systems.

Addressing Global Challenges

Our participation resonated deeply with Biofach’s central themes, including “Food for the Future: Women’s Impact on Sustainable Food Systems” and sector trends such as “Holistic.Climate.Regeneration” and “Personal and Planetary Health.” This alignment underscores our ongoing commitment to addressing global challenges in food security, climate change, and education.

A commitment to the future

Through our presence at Biofach 2024, we were able to emphasize the crucial role of organic agriculture, particularly the biodynamic approach, in creating a sustainable future. As the world looks towards more sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet, we continue to lead by example in advocating for regenerative agriculture practices and fosters healthy and resilient agro-ecosystems.
