In the context of Heliopolis University’s (HU) integral cooperation approach, a collaboration with Enroot was initiated. Enroot is a development consultancy committed to supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Egypt. Multidisciplinary approaches, validated international practices, and innovative techniques are the organizations’ primary tools to reach that goal.
The exchange between the two institutions started already in 2019 when Enroot participated in a research training. This time, the experts enriched eleven affiliates of Egyptian public universities in the framework of a training. The training, led by the HU-Entrepreneurship Center, HU-International Office, and Devilag Service Office, focused on “Incubator and Business Development Service Unit Management” and aimed to improve participants’ abilities and technical knowledge to become effective entrepreneurship facilitators.
Helmy Abouleish, Chair of the Board of Trustees of HU, underlined in his welcoming speech the significance of linking the course content to reality. According to that, all aspects of the training (selection criteria, procedure, services that were made available to selected startups) were continuously linked to the students’ interests, such as study programs and other educational services at HU. To this effect, the training included technical sessions, discussion workshops, and study excursions to Cairo’s vital incubators for universities like Luxor, Suhag, Qena, Aswan, Assuit, Benisuif, Damietta, Alexandria, Ain Shams, Benha, and Menofiya.
