Recently, Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development solemnized the Bachelor graduation of the first students of its three faculties: Business, Engineering and Pharmacy. The graduation ceremony took place at the “Space of Culture”, which is located in a roman theater on the campus and were also attended by the families and friends of the 104 fresh graduated academics.
Prominent figures from the Egyptian education sector attended the event, among them Ezz Al-Deen Abousteit, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Private Universities, Dr. Mohie Ebied, Head of Pharmacists Syndicate, as well as Dr. Ziad Bahaa El-Din, former Deputy Prime Minister of Egypt. The high-profile guests attended the event next to SEKEM coworkers, SEKEMs CEO, Helmy Abouleish, as well as Dr. Mohamed Yousry Hashem, President of Heliopolis University, and Dr. Kadria Abdel Motaal, Director of Research Department of the University. They all gave inspiring speeches to the graduates; wishing them to become activists for sustainable development in Egypt and the world.
The first Heliopolis University graduates then lined up at the stage of the roman theater in their gowns to receive their certificates. While listening to music by the Egyptian band “Oriental Nights” and the young singer Amira Reda, Heliopolis University bid farewell to the students of its first graduation year.
