Climate protection: YES, it’s possible — in Stuttgart as well as in Egypt!
The climate crisis affects us all and we are all wondering how we can reduce our CO2 emissions and bind more CO2. “Farmers are climate heroes!” SEKEM, an initiative for sustainable development in Egypt and winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize, has developed an exciting concept. Organic farmers become climate heroes in the process. They sequester CO2 through their work and at the same time produce healthy and valuable food.
Pioneer for solidarity agriculture
There are also such pioneers here on site, such as the Reyerhof in Stuttgart-Möhringen, which has been supplying the people of Stuttgart with healthy and climate-friendly biodynamic products for almost 70 years and has been working according to the principle of solidarity agriculture for 10 years. Here, consumers take responsibility for the production of their food and thus support the valuable work of farmers. Despite the many well-known positive effects of organic farming on the climate and society, producers are faced with the great challenge of bringing their products to consumers. On 17th of June you will have the opportunity to find out about these concepts and solutions, to discuss opportunities and challenges with us and perhaps even to take one or the other idea home with you personally.
