SDGI Conference Wrap-Up: Co-Creating Holistic Pathways for Global Sustainability

The Sustainable Development for Global Impact (SDGI) International Conference, held on September 23–24 at Heliopolis University, successfully gathered international experts, researchers, and students to share their voices and perspectives.

The two-day conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops within the four central sustainability pillars: Culture, Ecology, Economy, and Society. In addition to academic exchange and professional networking, the conference provided a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on holistic approaches to sustainable development.

A notable highlight was the launch of the publication “On the Earth We Want to Live”

Anthroposophy’s Contributions to Sustainable Development, edited by Johannes Kronenberg, is a collective achievement of 75 co-authors who contributed 45 perspectives, including 27 ‘Sustainable Native’ enterprises, 17 academic perspectives, and an introduction to Integral Sustainable Development. SEKEM CEO Helmy Abouleish is one of the co-authors of the publication, which highlights both long-standing and emerging narratives and offers fresh insights into anthroposophy’s contributions to global sustainability.

Through these activities, the SDGI Conference reaffirmed SEKEM and Heliopolis University’s commitment to advancing holistic research and practice in service of a just and regenerative global future.
