Ibrahim Abouleish, the founder of SEKEM and Heliopolis University (HU), was invited to Dubai 9 years ago by His Royal Highness Sheikh Dr.Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi III, a member of the Supreme Sharjah rulers. At that time, they discussed the possibility of developing and expanding Organic Agriculture on a practical and scientific level and in education, and the possibility of cooperation between both sides.
Since then, HU has successfully established the first Faculty of Organic Agriculture in the Middle East and North Africa, with the support of the ERASMUS+ EU-project DeVilag, a modern curriculum was developed with Egyptian and International partners. Tracing the steps of Ibrahim Aboueleish, a delegation from Heliopolis University visited LCPS Institute recently for a higher education presentation for graduates from the Middle East, in Dubai, working towards the realization of Ibrahim Abouleish’s dream!
