We mourn the loss of our dear friend Hermann Becke, who passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9th.
Dr. Hermann Becke was the chairman of the SEKEM Friends Austria for many years and a committed member of the SEKEM Friends Germany as well. Our friendship was shaped by the common conviction to support the SEKEM impulse as an approach for holistic sustainable development in Europe. As a natural scientist and a great lover of arts, Hermann Becke always brought farsightedness and goal orientation to the collaboration. Many of his impulses enriched the cultural life in SEKEM. His singing in particular will remain unforgotten.
In recent years, Hermann Becke has concentrated his commitment on cultural trips for members of the Austrian and German SEKEM Friends. These activities were very popular and are remembered by many of our members and friends as very special experiences.
Hermann Becke was a lecturer as well as university director and vice rector at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. In SEKEM he was also active as an advisory board member in the board of trustees of the Heliopolis University.
As a close friend and supporter of the entire SEKEM community, we will lovingly remember Hermann Becke.
