Recently, Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development signed a formal agreement with the University of Music and Performing Arts, Kunstuniversität Graz in Austria. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to foster joint activities that promote research, science and the development as well as inclusion of arts.
The cooperation was initiated by preparatory talks and a deep exchange between SEKEM Founder Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish and the Director of the choral education at the Kunstuniversität Graz, Prof. Mag. Johannes Prinz. The Presidents of both universities, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Yousri Hashem and Dr. Elisabeth Freismuth now officially signed the memorandum.
The SEKEM Friends Association in Austria strongly supported the agreement: “We are happy that we can herewith, contribute to the implementation of Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish‘s vision. In this spirit we will keep supporting the cooperation”, the association stated on their website.
The memorandum of understanding pledged to support an exchange between research, science and tinformation materials. Additionally, it pledged to promote the development of further trainings in the fields of arts and research, as well as an exchange between students and teachers. These new opportunities will be available to non-academic and administrative staff as well.
