Recently, Demeter Egypt celebrated the collaboration agreement to support Delphy’s local presence in Egypt and Demeter Egypt’s movement towards sustainable agriculture and biodynamic farming. Delphy is a company from the Netherlands that promotes knowledge and expertise in the food and plant sectors worldwide.
The collaboration event was hosted at the embassy of the Netherland in Cairo und organised by the NL-Masr Agri-food Network. Dr. Melle Leenstra, Agriculture counsellor Egypt & Jorden, had an opening speech about the history of collaboration between Netherland, SEKEM and Heliopolis University in different fields. The institutions did mainly cooperate in agriculture projects with a special focus on Biodynamic agriculture.
The agreement focusses on the establishment of a Delphy network in Egypt based on the YEP (Young Expert Program) program. One of its candidates, Nada Elbedawy, will take over the coordination and support the establishment of Delphy Egypt as the starting point to sharing knowledge with the Egyptian farmers. YEP is a funded program with a mission to create a young, renewed, inspiring international network and build expertise in the field of water, Agrofood and renewable Energy through Dutch organizations, operating in developing countries and emerging markets.
