The Centre for Arab-West Understanding (CAWU), SEKEM Development Foundation (SDF) and Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development (HU) are organising an intercultural and international summer school from June 25 until July 6 to foster cultural understanding and international friendship, thus promoting peaceful and sustainable development.
Lecturers will include a Member of the European Parliament as well as senior Dutch and Egyptian lecturers. Besides, excursions to locations in Egypt are planned where intercultural dialogue is practised. The workshop will be completed with a certificate of participation.
The Summer School is an offer to open-minded students or young persons interested to engage in interreligious and international exchange. Applications should be sent until May 31 to the CAWU or HU (http://sekem.com/en/events/) and include notes on the motivation of the applicant. A short CV can be helpful to demonstrate this.
The Summer School itself, and accommodation at the Heliopolis Student Hostel is supported financially by interested parties. However, a small contribution (LE 500 for Egyptian and € 100 for students enrolled in a university outside Egypt, and/or resident in Europe, North America, Asia or any other part of the world.) is necessary. For those who can’t afford that, an application for a scholarship is possible. Besides, costs for visa, insurance and entrance fees for museums and sites have to bore by the participants.
