Dear reader,
Today is World Health Day. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the progress of our health project in Egypt. The damage caused by the corona pandemic is also very noticeable in Egypt and is becoming a greater challenge from day to day. Even before the pandemic, the health system was unable to provide adequate medical care for the more than 100 million inhabitants. Now the situation has worsened drastically. Many adults and children do not have the opportunity to see a doctor and avoid visiting a clinic for fear of infection.

A team from the SEKEM Medical Center consisting of doctors and nurses has been visiting the 13 surrounding villages of the SEKEM Farm since September 2020. Among other activities, there are home visits of sick, old and poor people as well as visits to public schools taking place. Adults and children alike are examined if necessary, individually advised and given prescriptions. They are often advised to visit the SEKEM Medical Center to undergo necessary examinations or therapies. Thanks to many donations from Europe, our doctors have so far been able to meet, examine and treat more than 2,000 people.

These positive experiences have taught us that we must keep going. We want to continue to visit people who are in need, immobile, sick or have special needs in order to improve their quality of life. We want to put health advice, prevention, medical care and therapeutic services on wheels and bring them to where they are needed.
